Douglas J. Bosner, O.D.

Dr. Bosner received his Bachelor of Science from Marquette University in 1998 and his Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2002. He completed a one year residency with The Erdey Eye Group of Columbus OH, specializing in the therapeutic treatment of eye diseases.

Though Dr. Bosner's post doctorate training focused primarily on the treatment and management of eye disease, he has a passion and interest in a full range of optometric care. He provides care to patients of all ages, including babies through the AOA's InfantSee program, children, adults, and seniors.  Also a certified Wave contact lens fitter, Dr. Bosner fits difficult contact lens cases and Orthokeratology lenses (ortho-K) which studies out of OSU suggest may help slow the progression of nearsightedness in children and young adults.

Dr. Bosner is a member of the American, Ohio, and Central Ohio Optometric Associations.

Dr. Bosner lives in Upper Arlington with his wife, Deborah, and their son, Quinlan.  Before settling in Arlington, Dr. Bosner was "born, raised and trained (BRAT)" in the army and spent much of his young life traveling the world which included a seven year stint in Germany.  In his spare time, Dr. Bosner likes to volunteer his time to one of his favorite charities, The Ronald McDonald House.


James Bieber, O.D.

Dr. Bieber established Northwest EyeCare Professionals in the Tremont Center in Upper Arlington in 1968. Dr. Bieber, an Upper Arlington resident, was educated in the Arlington school system and attended Miami University. He received his Bachelors of Science and his Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University.

Dr. Bieber's professional experience includes three years as the optometry officer for Dyess AFB Hospital in Abilene, Texas, and twelve years as a Clinical Instructor at the Ohio State College of Optometry. He is a member of the American, the Ohio, and the Central Ohio Optometric Associations, Phi Gamma Delta social fraternity, Epsilon Psi Epsilon professional fraternity, and Beta Sigma Kappa, an international optometry honorary.

Dr. Bieber and his wife, Janet, have been married since 1965 and they have three grown children Brad, Lynne and Lorraine.


Russell S. Fillmore, O.D.

Dr. Russell Fillmore attended The Ohio State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Physiological Optics and a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1990. During his training, he also served an externship at the Veteran's Administration Hospital Eye Clinic in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Dr. Fillmore has a special interest in pediatrics, ocular disease treatment, dry eye therapy and laser vision correction, having had refractive surgery performed on his own eyes.

Dr. Fillmore lives in nearby Worthington with his wife, Monica, and their two children, Miles and Harrision.


Beth Travis, O.D.

Dr. Beth Travis graduated from Ohio State University in both 1994 and 1998, receiving first her Bachelors of Science and then her Doctorate of Optometry degrees. During optometry school, Dr. Travis was a research assistant for OSU Managed Health Care Systems, studying primarily outcomes management.

Dr. Travis is a member of the TriVillage Lions Club, the Ohio Optometric Association as well as the American Optometric Association. She participates in the Realeyes program, designed to teach school aged children more about vision and eyesight. Dr. Travis also serves as a board examiner for NBEO, National Board of Examiners of Optometry.

Dr. Travis enjoys providing a range of care that spans the decades of one's lifetime: from InfantSEE for babies to pediatric, adolescent, adult and elderly eye exams, including low vision rehabilitation. As a 25 year veteran of contact lens wear, Dr. Travis enjoys fitting all modalities of contact lenses.

Dr. Travis lives in Upper Arlington with her husband, Greg DeNaeyer, who is an optometrist downtown at Arena Eye Surgeons, and their two children, Ethan and Andrew.

Greg Antill, Jan Pepper and Chris Silva

Greg, Jan and Chris are our qualified opticians. As such, they will make sure that your glasses look and feel good in addition to ensuring that the lens optics are aligned correctly for your eyes. At Northwest EyeCare Professionals we believe in quality continuing education for our staff so we have them attend top notch seminars at well respected conferences so that they can further their training and education on the latest in lens designs.

Kelsey Hoying and Travis Stephens

Kelsey and Travis are primarily responsible for all of the preliminary testing that is done before you see the optometrist. They are skilled in retinal photography as well as corneal topography. In addition, they help by teaching new contact lens wearers how to properly insert, remove, and care for their contacts.

On occasion, Julie Stickel, a current student at the Ohio State University College of Optometry and a  member of our staff for several years, also peforms pre-test activities.


Abby Mallon

Abby not only helps with answering phones, scheduling appointments, billing and recall but she also spends a large portion of her day ordering contact lenses.  She has gone the extra distance to obtain her contact lens licensure so that she can continue to provide our patients with top notch care.  She is the friendly face who helps you learn how to put your contacts in and take them out.  Please feel free to give her a call if you have contact lens related questions.


Brittany Skousen

Brittany is one of the friendly voices who answers our phones.  She is responsible for scheduling your appointment(s) and is able to answer a wide variety of questions concering insurance eligibility and office protocol/procedure.
